**Please note there is a one-time $15.00 fee for EACH competition (Publication, Exhibitions, Technology). This fee covers ALL entries within a given competition.**
The SEMC Publication Design Competition began in 1988 to recognize and reward excellence in graphic design in southeastern museum publications. The competition encourages communication, effective design, creativity and pride of work, and recognition of institutional image and identity. Winning entries of all 2021 Competitions will be featured at SEMC2021 and in the Fall 2021 Edition of INSIDE SEMC. There is a $15.00 one-time entry fee for 2021.
The SEMC Curators’ Committee and NAME are committed to promoting excellence and professionalism in museums within the region. The Exhibition Competition focuses attention on exhibitions of merit that are well designed, have educational value and treat objects with care and respect. The competition showcases the best in our profession and provides benchmarks for regional exhibition efforts in southeastern museums. Winning exhibitions will be featured at SEMC2021 Awards Ceremony and in the Fall 2021 Edition of INSIDE SEMC.
The competition has five budget categories: Exhibits with budgets up to $10,000, under $25,000, over $25,000, over $100,000; and exhibits with a budget of $1,000,000 or more. We have also added a new category for Digital Exhibitions for 2021! There is a $15.00 one-time entry fee for 2021. All inquires may be addressed to Emilie Arnold at email@example.com
The SEMC Technology Competition began to recognize and reward excellence in the use of technology by southeastern museums. The competition encourages innovation, effective design, accessibility, creativity and pride of work, and recognition of institutional identity. Winning projects will be highlighted at the Technology Showcase at SEMC2021 and also be featured in the Fall 2021 Edition of INSIDE SEMC. There is a $15.00 one-time entry fee for 2021.
