Specialty Sales Manager, Group & BB's Stage Door Canteen, The National WWII Museum - New Orleans, LA

    The National WWII Museum is currently seeking a Specialty Sales Manager, Group & BB's Stage Door Canteen. Reporting to the Director of Specialty Sales, the Specialty Sales Manager, Group & BB's Stage Door Canteen is the primary contact for all BB’s Stage Door Canteen and Museum specialty tour sales. This position assists with all telephone and email inquiries and works closely with all other Museum departments involved in operations for these products. 

    Requirements

    • Sell the Museum’s specialty sales and group programs and attractions to local and national companies, organizations, schools, and motor coach tour operators.
    • Support Specialty Sales with the sales and promotion of tours and BB’s Stage Door Canteen for both group and individual clients.
    • Serve as the on-site contact for group client needs such as meet and greet and client catering.
    • Maintain accounts in Museum ticketing software, Galaxy.
    • Assist with the management of Stage Door schedule, guests lists and on-site operations.
    • Work closely with the Entertainment Department on new ideas and scheduling.
    • Assist with the management of Museum general calls and act as support staff as needed.
    • Represent the Museum at industry events and trade shows.
    • Generate proposals, contracts, and Banquet Event Orders.
    • Conduct site inspections with clients and industry partners as required.
    • Assist with the design and creation of sales packages and eComms to promote Museum’s group and specialty products.
    • Achieve group sales goals for ticket sales, food and beverage, and group Stage Door Canteen revenue targets.
    • Work special event shows as needed, including New Year’s Eve, Mother’s Day, Valentine’s Day and others as designated by the Senior Director of Specialty Sales and AVP of Hospitality Sales.
    • Assist in on-boarding new products.
    • Attend weekly meetings to update staff and resolve any concerns regarding group and specialty sales operations.
    • Assist Senior Director of Specialty Sales and AVP of Hospitality Sales in running periodic reports required by Sales, Finance, Operations, etc.
    • Undertake other duties and special projects as assigned by the Senior Director of Specialty Sales and AVP of Hospitality Sales

    Qualifications

    • Excellent phone skills 
    • Experience balancing daily receipts.
    • Knowledge of the Galaxy Ticketing system is preferred.
    • Computer skills, including Excel, Word and Outlook.
    • Experience working with the public.
    • Willingness to work in a team environment.
    • Excellent oral communication skills.
    • Initiative, organizational skills and good judgment.
    • Ability to work accurately in a fast-paced environment.
    • Ability to make informed decisions with limited supervision.
    • Dependability and excellent attendance record.
    • Willingness to work overtime during special events or heavy visitation periods.
    • A flexible schedule. Weekend and holiday work REQUIRED.
    • Ability to push, pull, and lift weights up to 20 pounds. May require prolonged standing and/or walking during which time objects are transported. May require bending, squatting, or reaching and occasional use of equipment.
