Salary Information
Compensation plans are based on a multi-step progression system. The pay range reflects the entry level and maximum salary potential in the assigned pay grade.
**A starting salary may be negotiated and will be commensurate with education, training and experience in alignment with pay administration policies and MCCP Board Rules & Regulations**
Nature of Work
The fundamental reason this position exists is to assist with front-of-house operations for the Montgomery Museum of Fine Arts. This position also assists in the coordination and maintenance of the gallery attendant and tour program. The work responsibilities of the position are: to assist with the management of the logistics for Museum front-of-house work; assist in the management and coordination of the visitor services program; and perform additional duties. Work requires high levels of customer service and listening skills as well as extensive knowledge of Museum programs and tour curriculum. Work is performed with considerable independence of judgment and supervision. The Museum Attendant is supervised by the Museum Curator III (Education).
Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma or G.E.D. and one year of administrative support experience to include face-to-face customer contact and project or staff scheduling. (Customer contact experience is defined as guest relations, volunteer coordination, public relations, or closely related experience.) Preference will be given for experience providing service to constituents in an educational institution or museum.
NOTE: Qualifying education, training, and experience that provide the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job will be considered.
Special Requirements
Must be able to walk and stand for long periods as needed for visitor services shifts and educational programming or events. Must be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed for programs and/or special events.
Kind of Examination
