    Job Description Summary

    Thinking strategically and proactively, the Director of Advancement & External Affairs plans, manages and implements efforts to support Reynolda through a comprehensive fundraising and promotion program that elevates institutional relevancy, community awareness, and the mission of Reynolda House Museum of American Art and Reynolda Gardens. The Director is responsible for all fundraising, strategic advancement in marketing, earned revenue through admissions and retail, and Reynolda-hosted event planning efforts for both House and Gardens. The Director will develop fundraising strategies for support from individuals, corporations, and foundations, as well as establish goals and strategies for growth in visitation, admissions, membership, annual fund contributions, and Museum Shop and Reynolda Welcome Center revenues. This supervisory role inspires Advancement and Marketing & Communications staff including the teams associated with these areas–all of whom are essential to engaging visitors across the spectrum of Reynolda House and Reynolda Gardens.

    The Director will provide guidance on the implementation and management of an integrated marketing program that effectively communicates the mission and cultural leadership of historic Reynolda to a broad range of constituencies. This role supervises the strategic alignment of Reynolda’s marketing and communication plans with key performance indicators associated with the vision of Reynolda and annual financial and operating goals. This supervisor imagines and implements dynamic strategies to ensure that Reynolda is evolving with visitors, reaching revenue aspirations, and cultivating collaborative and inclusive environments.
