Museum Preparator

Salary Range: $2,896 -$3,334 per month (plus full state benefits)

The Tennessee State Museum is seeking a Museum Preparator to support the installation, maintenance, and fabrication of exhibition spaces throughout the Museum.

Key Responsibilities:

•  Assist with the installation and deinstallation of permanent and temporary exhibitions, ensuring safe and organized workspaces.
• Transport, install, and maintain exhibition assets such as display cases, furniture, graphics, labels, and modular walls.
• Perform fabrication, painting, repairs, and general gallery maintenance using museum equipment including lifts, ladders, trucks, and tools.
• Interpret design schematics; clean, maintain, inventory, and prepare galleries, exhibition materials, tools, and equipment while reporting any equipment issues.
• Support exhibition readiness by preparing materials, coordinating logistics, and contributing to lighting, layout adjustments, and other installation needs.
