    **POSITION TITLE: ** Membership & Communications Coordinator

    **REPORTS TO:** Director of Development

    **STATUS:** Non- Exempt, Full-time

    POSITION SUMMARY

    The Membership & Communications Coordinator is a multifaceted role that supports the museum’s fundraising, membership, marketing, and event planning. This individual manages donor and member databases, coordinates communications and promotional content, supports development efforts including grant writing and reporting, and plays an integral role in the planning and execution of dedicated events. The ideal candidate will be meticulous, creative, organized, and enthusiastic about community engagement.

    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

    Membership & Development

    • Support the execution of the membership strategy, including acquisition and retention strategies, membership marketing, and program changes/updates.

    • Manage print and digital direct marketing campaigns to drive membership.

    • Meet annual membership goals.

    • Develop programs, services, and benefits for members to encourage acquisition, renewal, and upgrades.

    • Implement member acquisition and renewal strategies, including but not limited to: on-site and online solicitation, targeted solicitations, incentives, and coordinate with marketing on ad campaigns.

    • Serve as primary point of contact for members and manage communications, renewal mailings, and fulfillment of benefits.

    • Maintain donor and membership records and ensure data integrity (Salesforce).

    • Analyze membership and giving data to achieve full picture of member behavior and effectiveness of membership plan and marketing efforts

    • Run regular reports and queries for membership, grants, and gifts.

    • Prepare donor acknowledgements, thank-you letters, and tributes.

    • Reconcile monthly donations with accounting.

    • Assist with grant tracking and data collection.

    • Provide support for annual appeals, campaigns, and donor research.

    • Ensure development materials are stocked (e.g., one-pagers, scavenger hunts)

    • Coordinate the calendars and meetings for senior staff.

    Marketing & Communications

    • Draft and distribute email newsletters (membership and general marketing).

    • Develop and maintain social media content calendar.

    • Proofread promotional and printed materials.

    • Post and update Facebook events and online bulletin calendars.

    • Support communications campaigns and assist with advertising efforts.

    • Monitor and respond to emails as needed and serve as point of contact on various projects.

    Special Events & Program Support

    • Assist with logistical planning for events, including registration, vendor coordination, food orders, and seating charts.

    • Provide onsite support for programs, concerts, lectures, and community events.

    • Manage third-party vendors when senior staff are unavailable.

    • Represent The Breman at programs and staff meetings as needed.

    QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

    • Bachelor’s degree.

    • 1–3 years’ experience in fundraising, membership services, marketing, events, and/or related fields.

    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

    • Familiarity with Salesforce, Mailchimp, Eventbrite, and Microsoft Office required.

    • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite a plus.

    • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

    • Excellent interpersonal and critical thinking skills.

    • Ability to work evenings and Sundays throughout the year to support various programs and events.

    • Highly detail oriented.

    • Comfortable working independently and as part of a small, collaborative team.

    • Ability to lift objects weighing 15-35 pounds.

    • Ability to stand up to two or more hours at a time.

    **Salary:** $40,000-$50,000, commensurate with experience
