    Overview:

    The Chrysler Museum of Art seeks a dynamic and creative individual to lead our six person Communications, Marketing, and Design team and advance the Museum's mission by designing, implementing, and evaluating a comprehensive and integrated marketing and communications program to enhance awareness of, and participation in, the Chrysler’s programs. The Director of Communications reports to the Museum Director and serves on the Senior Leadership Team. In this capacity they also help shape and realize the strategic vision of the Museum.

    Essential Job Functions:

    They will develop, implement, and evaluate an annual institutional communications plan and budget and a master communications schedule in collaboration with the Museum’s Senior Leadership Team. They will help refine and maintain the integrity of the Chrysler brand. In collaboration with external PR firms, they will develop a comprehensive strategy to secure local, regional, national, and international media coverage of the Museum's exhibitions, collections, programs, and other important events.

    The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational, planning, supervisory, and communication skills; superior writing skills; and attention to detail.

    The Director of Communications must be:

    Education and Experience Requirements:
    •  B.A. in Marketing, English, Communications, Public Relations, or related discipline
    • At least 5 years of responsibility in public relations, communications, or marketing, with a proven track record of creating and implementing marketing and communications strategies to advance institutional mission and objectives. 
    Salary Range: 

    $80,000 - $100,000 - to commensurate with experience
