    The Mississippi Department of Archives and History is recruiting a Multimedia Specialist Team Lead to serve as an exhibit designer within the Museum Division exhibits office. This position works to develop and design exhibits at MDAH museums and historic sites. Its primary responsibilities include working to develop and create 2-D and 3-D designs for permanent or temporary exhibitions, creating exhibit graphics and interpretive signage, promotional and educational materials, and other multimedia components. The position also works with curatorial staff to maintain and handle exhibit lighting needs.

    This position is based at the Two Mississippi Museums in Jackson and reports to the Director of Curatorial Services.

    Education and experience must meet the following criteria: This role typically requires a Bachelor’s Degree and four to six years of related experience in exhibit design and/or fabrication. Preference will be given to applicants with degrees in Applied Fine Arts, Fine Arts, Graphic Design, or a related field. The ideal candidate should have an educational background in graphic design and 2-D/3-D design, experience with Adobe Creative Cloud, Google Sketchup, and/or CAD software programs, and experience creating, developing, or fabricating exhibits in a museum or informal learning environment.
