    Job Summary:
    The Archivist & Records Manager provides stewardship for the Jekyll Island Authority (JIA) museum and archival assets in alignment with the conservation and preservation mission of the JIA. The Archivist & Records Manager directly and indirectly supports all functions of the Historic Resources Division.  Responsibilities include establishing and maintaining a strategic archival program including selection, appraisal and acquisition of records, arrangement and description activities for collections, reference services for the Curator and other constituents. With the Curator, is responsible for developing and managing collection preservation and protection programs and protocols. Additionally, is responsible for developing and maintaining a records management program based on retention schedules, JIA mandates, and the museum mission, as required for JIA as a self-supporting state agency responsible for the overall management and stewardship of Jekyll Island. Finally, the Archivist & Records Manager is responsible for remaining current with archival and records management best practices by participating in professional development activities.
