    The National WWII Museum is currently seeking a Student Programs Intern. This paid internship opportunity is responsible for assisting the Student Programs team in facilitating the Museum’s spring Student Programs. This position will focus on the logistics and execution of programs including the Louisiana History Day and Robotics Challenge as well as Field Trip Plus programs.  

    Applicants should have an interest in working with students, as well as a curiosity and desire for continuous learning. They should be able to work independently and have a positive attitude.  Applicants should also be detailed oriented and organized. 

    This position is a paid internship and offers a 15-hour work week. The Student Programs Intern must have availability Monday – Friday from February 2025 through May 2025, with some evenings and weekends as requested. 

    Requirements

    • Assist with the logistics and execution of student programs at the Museum, including National History Day and the Robotics Challenge program.
    • Assist in the preparation for the Student Programs department summer programs.
    • Assist the Student Programs team with the preparation and delivery of Field Trip Plus programs for K-12 students onsite at the Museum.
    • Assist the larger Education department with other tasks as needed. 

    Qualifications

    • The ideal candidate is currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in education, history, museum studies, or a related field. Strong organizational skills, excellence with interpersonal communication, and an interest in museum education are a must.
    • Must be able to work independently and take initiative 
    • Candidates with experience working in education, events or public programming, particularly in museums or the hospitality industry, are encouraged to apply.
    • Must be at least 18 years of age.
