    POSITION & RESPONSIBILITIES

    The Wolfsonian¬–Florida International University seeks an experienced Grant Proposal Writer to support the museum’s effort to obtain external funding. Working with a development team that includes a major gifts officer and a membership manager, this is a terrific opportunity to apply your writing talents and take on specialized development-related tasks.

    The Grant Proposal Writer creates and edits written content, coordinates preparation and submission of grant proposals and reports, and manages workflow and deadlines. The position assists with major corporate and individual funding proposals as needed. The Wolfsonian manages approximately ten recurring foundation and government grants each year. The position receives administrative support to manage FIU grant protocols and approvals from a dedicated pre- and post-award grant team at FIU’s Office of Research & Economic Development.

    Grants support our general operations, educational initiatives, publications, exhibitions, and special projects. The successful candidate must thrive in a culture that values excellence in writing, clarity in presentation, high attention to detail (grant requirements), creativity, teamwork, new ideas, and multiple skill sets. As a small team, we are seeking someone with the experience and willingness to handle broader duties as needed. The ideal candidate will desire to expand his/her portfolio to include oversight of a limited number of stewardship and cultivation events for individuals, and assistance with seasonal development projects.

    Qualifications
    - Bachelor’s degree in related field and two (2) years of experience in grant writing and performing detailed administrative duties
    - Ability to flexibly handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
    - Solid work ethic, high level of professional integrity, positive attitude, and a sense of humor
    - Flexible schedule to accommodate last-minute deadlines, special projects, and programming/event assistance


    SALARY
    $45,000 Commensurate with experience
